Stories Told, Lessons Learned This is a very personal, inspirational and poignant look at what it has meant to be a quiltmaker. Stained Glass Quilting (lecture/demo) An overview of how Fran got started in stained glass quilting and a presentation of her stained glass techniques. Lecture includes a brief demonstration (with handout) and a “show and tell” trunk show. The Judge’s Evaluation of Quilts This presentation would be of interest to quilters who plan on entering competitions, as well as to quilters who simply wish to evaluate and improve their own work. Discussion covers evaluation of workmanship and design, as well as some personal insights on the judging process. Celtic Appliqué by Machine (lecture/demo) Fran presents a brief history of Celtic Art, a trunk show of her Celtic pieces, and a demonstration (with handout) of her Celtic Appliqué techniques The West Virginia Heritage Quilt Search The West Virginia Heritage Quilt Search was a volunteer effort to collect and preserve information about West Virginia’s pre-1940 quilts and quiltmakers. Join Fran as she guides you through the state’s documentation process, shares some of its stories, summarizes some of the results, and talks about the project’s inclusion in The Quilt Index. A trunk show will include quilts that were inspired by the project. |
